Top 10 Situations Where You'll Need a Tactical Belt

If you have been looking at a tactical belt for quite some time, then you may be wondering what makes them different and what they can be used for. At the end of the day, a tactical belt can be used for just about anything you would use a normal belt for. That being said, they are most suited to those who work in law enforcement or those who are in the military. They give you the chance to carry a huge amount of configurable gear. So in what situations would you need a tactical belt? Take a look below.

1.      To Carry your Gear as an Officer of the Law

If you work in law enforcement, you may need to carry a handcuff case, a magazine carrier and even a radio. Depending on the equipment you carry, you may find that your tactical belt is worn around your waist, but it is not threaded through the loopholes on your jeans. In other words, it’s not used to hold up your pants, but more for giving you quick access to any tactical gear that you may need when in dangerous situations.

2.      Saving your Life in the Military

Another reason why you may need a tactical belt is if you are part of the military. From canteens to army knives and more, it’s always a good idea for you to have certain things on your person, as opposed to in a bag or backpack. After all, in a dangerous situation, you may need to leave your bag behind, but leaving your knife or water canteen may add even more threat to your life.

3.      If you’re an Armed Civilian

If you are an armed civilian, then you will need to carry a belt that gives you quick access to your weapon.  Most people think that putting a gun in their belt loop is the way to go, but this can be awkward and clunky. It may also limit the access you have to your gun in dangerous situations.

4.      Shooting Range Support

If you train at the shooting range, then you can easily add a multitude of accessories to your tactical belt. You can add magazine carriers, dump pouches, shot timers and more. If you want one belt to rule them all, tactical is the way to go. You may also find that you can use your tactical belt to carry multiple firearms, which is very useful if you find yourself switching out quite often.

5.      A Medical Lifesaver

If you find yourself lost in the woods or if you are out on an adventure and someone is injured then there’s a chance you’ll need to use your tactical belt for medical uses. From using it as a tourniquet to helping to elevate injuries, the possibilities are endless. You can also use your tactical belt as a way to form a splint, so if someone has badly injured their leg or arm, you can give them basic medical care until they can get to the hospital.

6.      Wilderness Survival

Tactical belts can also be used to bundle firewood together. They are made out of strong webbing and therefore are resistant to splinters and rips. You can also use a tactical belt to bundle material such as leaves or thatch if you intend on making a survival shelter for the night. As mentioned above, tactical belts are far stronger than normal belts, so you should have no issues making sure that you can carry everything you need.

7.      Physical Restraint in Dangerous Situations

In the event of an emergency, you may find yourself having to restrain another person. A tactical belt can work well here. You can secure a person, or you can use your tactical belt as a way to make handcuffs.

8.      Pulling Someone up

If someone has fallen down a gorge or a pit, and you need to help lift them out, a tactical belt can be a lifesaving tool here. You can lower the belt down and then give them something to grab, while you try and find a way to pull them to safety. You never know when you’re going to be in a situation such as this, and if you don’t have rope, a heavy duty tactical belt is the next best thing.

9.      For Guiding Someone

Have you ever needed to guide someone somewhere? Maybe you’re out on an adventure and someone in your party becomes partially blinded. You may think that situations like this don’t happen very often, but they can, and when they do, you may find that you have a bit of an issue on your hands. If you have a tactical belt however, you can easily give the other person something to hold onto, as you take them to safety.

10.  Confronting a Dangerous Animal

If you find yourself out and about, you may find that you encounter numerous animals along the way. Dangerous animals could be around every corner, but if you have a tactical belt on you then you may find that it does become easier to scare them away. You will be able to whip out your belt and use it as a deterrent for the animal, or you can throw it to try and lure the animal away from you. You can also use it as a way to get an animal’s attention if you are trying to lure them away from another person.

Of course, using a tactical belt can be a fantastic way for you to ensure your survival if you are out and about, not to mention that it can also give you access to any weapons you may carry. The possibilities are truly endless. Tactical belts are also very good if you want a belt that is far more durable when compared to a normal belt, or if you want something that comes with a quick-release system. They are also available in numerous colours, so you are bound to find something that works well for you.
