KEEN Utility Men’s Milwaukee 6″ Steel Toe Work Boot Video Review

Fit

Both the KEEN Utility Men’s Milwaukee 6″ Steel Toe Work Boot and theKEEN Utility Men’s Pittsburgh Steel Toe Work Boot fit pretty much as you’d expect. Since they are made by the same company, they have basically the same fit.

Now that we have that out of the way, let’s move to some differences, starting with weight.

Weight

The Pittsburgh is heavier than the Milwaukee. This might come as a surprise to you, since the Pittsburgh is also lighter duty than the Milwaukee. However, it’s made of bulkier materials.

All steel-toe boots are a bit heavy, so if you want to go with a boot as light as possible, your best bet it the Milwaukee.

Sole

The Pittsburgh features a five-piece,non-marking rubber outsolewith a full-footed rubber shank from heel to toe. It gives lots of support for your foot and creates an even plain for walking. It’s also oil and slip resistant.

The Pittburgh has a long-lasting midsole. It features a metanomical removable EVA footbed in the heel and polyeurthane in forefoot. The torsional support and contoured heel lock add extra stability.

The Milwaukee also has a non-slip, non-marking rubber sole. It is pretty much the same thing as the Pittsburgh’s midsole. However, the Milwaukee’s midsole is a soft cushion that is designed to keep your knees and hips happy.

Overall, the material of the Pittsburg is more comfortable. It’s also weather-resistant, and the Milwaukee is not. However, it’s a medium-duty work boot, and the Milwaukee is heavy-duty.

Outer Material/ Lining

The Pittsburg is made with a waterproof Nubuck leather lining, and the shoe as a whole is designed to be weatherproof. This boot boasts a casual upper with a cool color detail that you’ll enjoy wearing. Pick a shoe with pops of red, blue, or one of the other colors!

To make the boot more durable, Toughtech leather wraps around the back of the heel to resist abrasion. Inside, you’ll find Dry-Lex footwear lining. This will keep your feet from get hot and sweaty as you go about your work.

The Milwaukee is made with full-grade leather. This shoe is held together with double-lock stitching to make sure it doesn’t come apart at the seams.

The Pittsburgh has more padding than the Milwaukee (hence the extra weight), which makes it more comfortable. However, the Milwaukee is made of more durable materials.

Features

The Pittsburgh toe cap is specially-made for comfort. It’s asymmetrical so that it can fit your left and right feet perfectly without uncomfortable rubbing. The toe box is also a bit larger, so you won’t get that awful cramped toe feeling that is often a problem with steel toe boots.

The Milwaukee has a ton of toe protection, more than the Pittsburgh. It has the same steel safety toe cap as the Pittsburg. Outside of the shoe, there’s also a leather wrap over the toe. And as if that’s wasn’t enough, there’s an extra thick rubber cover extending from the durable sole!

Both the Pittburgh and Milwaukee are inspired by hiking boots. They have a metal hook lacing system and nice laces. They also have more of a hiking boot shape.

That’s what makes these so awesome! They’re designed to be comfortable and look cool, so you’ll love lacing them up and walking out the door.

Both of these shoes also offer electrical hazard protection. So you can use them for just about any job!

Cost

The Pittsburgh is more expensive than the Milwaukee. It’s not twice as expensive or anything, but it’s still a bit more. So if you’re saving money, you might want to go with the cheaper and heavier-duty Milwaukee.

Verdict

Both of these boots are good. You can enjoy working in either of them! However, the Pittsburgh wins out over the Milwaukee in several categories.

First of all, it’s a lot more comfortable. It has more padding and a softer midsole. If you want to have thankful feet at work, the Pittsburgh is where it’s at.

Secondly, it weatherproof. You can work outside in this and not worry about getting cold and damp feet.

Third, it just looks better! The cool colors and lace choices make it look nicer. You’ll get to show off your personality with the color choices—something that’s extra awesome if you have to wear a uniform at work.

Although the Pittsburg is more expensive than the Milwaukee, the price is justified by the extra features you get with the Pittsburgh.
